Cooperative Care with Dr. June Olds:

Learn the importance of your pups being active participants in their care, including vet visits, grooming, and overall general handling. As the Chief Veterinarian at the Blank Park Zoo and the Attending Veterinarian at the Ape Cognition and Conservation Initiative, Dr. June Olds will share her experience providing health care to a wide range of species. She will talk to us about the various skills zookeepers train exotic animals to execute to allow for comprehensive exams that create the least amount of stress on the animal. Please RSVP for this event on the meetup page.

Dr. Olds has been kind enough to volunteer her time to speak with us, allowing this to be a free event. In return, she wanted us to share information about her Crow Creek Service Trip. Iowa State University annually sends professors, veterinary students, and other volunteers to the Crow Creek Reservation in South Dakota. Here, the volunteers will provide preventative veterinary care to more than 300 animals, including small animals and equines, that would otherwise not be able to receive care. Please consider donating to this fantastic cause.

Puppy & Me Home Grooming Clinic:

Join Katie, owner of Teddy's Ruff Riders; as a leader in her industry, she teaches you all about maintaining your pup's coat and skin between grooming appointments! We don't know what we don't know, and if you are not a trained groomer, you may not know the right brushes to use, how to properly brush your pup, clip their nails, check their ears, and more.  Coat maintenance on many dogs can be challenging and often done incorrectly, leading to matted coats that need to be shaved.  During this workshop, you will gain a plethora of education to help you succeed in keeping your pup pristine. Each working spot registration includes a personalized grooming kit for your pup's coat type.

Virtual Challenges

Join us in virtual challenges where you can participate from the comfort of your home and even earn titles.

While these challenges have "Official" start dates, you can join anytime! We will be breaking down bigger goals or titles into manageable chucks. Utilize these start dates as guides to keep you accountable, if needed.

Each week share videos, pictures, or just update everyone on your progress. Let's crush these challenges together!

For our AKC Trick Dog challenges, submit videos of your dog performing each test item in the challenge to earn their AKC title. If you would like your videos evaluated for the title please email [email protected] and [email protected]. To be eligible, your videos should include the handler, unless you are working toward your novice trick title. More than one video can be submitted each week.

Open Gym

Our open gym program allows members to rent out space to work on skills outside of class time. You will have the opportunity to use the space and any specialized equipment you'd like. There is an option to rent out one of the classrooms or the whole facility depending on your needs.

Book Open Gym Time

In order to qualify to use our open gym program, you must first complete an in-person orientation. You may sign-up for an individual orientation time that fits in your schedule.
