Ryan Anderson learned about his love for training in 2006 when he began attending classes with his Golden Retriever, Tucker. Ryan and Tucker together achieved their Rally Novice (RN) and Rally Advanced (RA) titles. When adding his second Golden Retriever, Surfer, to his family in 2009, he began his journey learning about scent theory, this is where he found his passion. In 2010, Ryan began teaching tracking classes for Des Moines Obedience Training Club. He continued training Surfer and together they achieved their Tracking Dog (TD) and Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX) titles through the American Kennel Club (AKC). To further his education in scent theory, he joined Canine Craze team in 2011 and began attending seminars and training Surfer in preparations for K9 Nose Work® competitions. Ryan designed and implemented Canine Craze’s Nose Work and Tracking programs. In 2014, Ryan earned his Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) certification and his Nose Work 1 (NW1) title with Surfer through the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW). Additionally, during this time, Ryan became an Assistant Trainer for Puppy Jake Foundation and helped train the service dog Lt Dan, who was placed with his veteran. Over the years, Ryan has held a variety of positions with Canine Craze from Trainer to Training Program Coordinator. Currently, he is a part-time Trainer.
