Lene Lox, Trainer

Lene moved to Des Moines in 2012 to attend Grandview University to pursue her interest in zookeeping at the Blank Park Zoo. She ended up getting a job as a kennel technician at 4 Paws Unleashed while finishing college. She began fostering rescue dogs from Forever Home Dog Rescue to further explore her new obsession with dogs. She completed her senior internship with Paws and Effect training service dogs for veterans with PTSD. This gave her the chance to experience ClickerExpo in Portland and she fell in love with the philosphy behind this type of training. Realizing her passion for relationship building with dogs, she gave up her dream of becoming a zookeeper and became manager at 4 Paws. She started doing board and trains for basic obedience as a chance to practice the new things she was learning as a trainer. After this position she went back to school enrolling in the Veterinary Technician Program at DMACC. She worked for a year and a half at Starch Pet Hospital/University West Pet Clinic to round out her background education with dogs. She loved that job, but decided since her real passion was training she needed to find a job that focused more on that area. This is what brought her to Canine Craze.

In her free time she loves to spend time with her dog Ava. They love to hike, kayak, camp, and go on long road trips. So far they have been to 17 states together.
