Doggy Daycare offers a healthy outlet for dogs’ natural energies, instincts and behavior. Our Daycare is much more than a playgroup facility. At Canine Craze Performance Center, dogs socialize together; they run, play, wrestle, chase, play hide and seek, snuggle up together, or simply hang out with their friends.
Constantly supervised by Canine Craze playgroup staff; our dogs learn to manage themselves with high activity, get along with group interaction, adjust to different play styles, and respond to various adult caregivers. We have snacks, lunch time, nap time, and even daycare training if requested and of course play together.
For more information and to set up an evaluation, call us at 515.222.1112.
Our dogs range in size and age from tiny 2 pound Chihuahuas and other toy breeds, to 40-50 pound ‘babies’. We have days designed to allow for dogs to have similar size and activity level play. Playgroup offers the opportunity for dogs to express their natural behaviors in a physically and psychologically healthy way.

Is Daycare For Me & My Dog?
Our typical Daycare owner is a responsible individual seeking to provide a healthy outlet for their dog’s energy and natural behavior. They understand the critical developmental opportunity to gain social skills through interaction. From the at-home mom with kids to the two-income family with no kids or single adult, our clients want to furnish their dogs with the opportunity to be the very best dog with other dogs and people.
Daycare benefits puppies throughout puppy hood. We help curb new puppy behavior, get them through teething without destruction, and give them critically important socialization with other puppies and nice dogs. Adolescents are probably our biggest group. These are the terrible teens, the time when dogs need exercise and playtime most. Our playtime offers problem solving opportunities and new physical challenges with fun equipment.
Our staff watches out for the individual needs of every dog in our care. A sensitive dog needs slow acclimation to the group. Energetic puppies need their drive directed to positive activities. We are constantly acknowledging and reinforcing positive play. Some dogs need more lap time and interaction with the humans.

A Typical Day at Daycare
Our owners tell us their dog "knows where Canine Craze is”. Arriving at Canine Craze the dog usually leads his owner through the door. Happy to be here, he greets our morning staff and goes to a kennel to wait for his friends to arrive. After a potty walk, he begins romping for a couple hours with his buddies, then out for a potty walk. When all are walked they are ready to curl up for a snooze in their crate. During this healthful and relaxing rest period, we give the dogs a snack, a potty walk and then they are back out to play until it's time to go home.
Dogs have the A-frame to climb up, through, and over, tunnels to play hide & seek in, curl up and sleep in. All the playtime is supervised by caring chaperones constantly watching for changes in mood, signs of fatigue and meeting the needs of their four-legged friends.
When it's time to go home, we see a repeat of the morning routine. As happy as the dogs were to arrive in the morning, they're equally pleased to greet their owners and go home. What could be better-a great day of friends and play, and a relaxed evening at home for dog and "parents".

Introducing Dogs to Daycare
Our Daycare staff receives ongoing training to recognize, deal with, and eliminate issues before they become problems. The careful and caring introduction of new dogs is part of this skill. Each new dog is evaluated prior to introduction into the group-usually introduced to one or two at a time.
Some dogs may require a slower introduction over time, staying with a smaller group at first, or may rapidly become part of the larger play group. It's up to the dog and his needs, temperament and personality. This is where the experience of our staff excels. Timid dogs are introduced at their own pace - in some cases, taking as long as two weeks to acclimate to the new environment.
